Location
The Penn State Smeal Master of Finance (MFIN) program is based in the Business Building on the Penn State University Park campus in State College, Pennsylvania. With just over 40,000 residents, State College has been ranked as one of the nation's most livable communities by Kiplinger's and among the best college towns by the American Institute for Economic Research.
A Home for Business
Smeal MFIN students will take classes in the Business Building, which has been recognized as one of the best business school facilities in the world. Dedicated in 2005, this 210,000-square-foot building was designed by renowned Robert A.M. Stern Architects. Dedicated graduate-level classrooms feature tiered learning spaces with wireless access, video projection tools, and technology that supports the recording and rebroadcasting of presentations. Outside the classrooms, students have access to about a dozen conference rooms to support team project work.
Centrally Located
State College, Pennsylvania, is within easy driving distance of major regional business hubs such as Baltimore, New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Washington, D.C. The University Park Airport, which is a five-minute drive from campus, offers daily connecting flights to major hubs including Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia, and Washington/Dulles. The region offers vibrant nightlife, theater and concert performances in a variety of venues, a diverse array of spectator sports, and ample opportunities for outdoor activities across the region.
